• Identifying Above The Line Tax Reductions for your business in the New Year

Posted on February 8th, 2010 mj No comments

When it comes to federal business taxes, your goal should be to pay just what is necessary, nothing more. Because your tax liability is determined by your net income, the surest way to reduce the taxes you owe is to reduce your income. Of course, you want to do this without technically reducing your income. You can do this by taking certain above-the-line tax deductions.

Above-the-line-tax deductions are more like tax deductions that are adjustments to your income. They’re called above-the-line because they are claimed on the first page of the tax return just above the last line. These deductions limit your adjustable gross income and ultimately decrease your tax liability.

The following are some above-the-line tax deductions that are discussed in our Internet Marketing Domain Tax GuideTax Guide which you can consider if you are eligible.

    • Moving expenses, if you moved for job purposes.

    • Self-employment. Half the amount of taxes that are calculated to Social Security and Medicare.

    • Self-employed retirement plans.

    • Self-employed health insurance. The total amount you pay in health insurance fees not only for yourself, but for your spouse and dependents as well. Even contributions towards long-term care policies are included.

    • Penalties paid for early withdrawal of savings. The account manager of such an account should send you a 1099-INT or 1099-OID form including the early withdrawal penalty.

    • Alimony payments. If you became divorced and paying alimony, you can deduct these payments from your income. You must include your ex-spouse’s social security number; or the deduction might be disallowed.

    • IRA deductions for amounts contributed to traditional IRAs for people who are self-employed.

    • Student loan interest. Up to $2,500 in student loan interest paid can be deducted for single filers making $65,000 or less or joint filers making $135,000 or less.

    • Jury duty pay if it was turned over to your employer.

You can obtain most of these above-the-line tax deductions by using the long form, 1040. If you prefer to use the short from, 1040A, you can still take a few of these deductions. Early account withdrawal penalties, IRA contributions, student loan interest and jury pay are the above-the-line-tax deductions that may be claimed on the 1040A tax return. Consult with your personal tax consultant for more details or check out this Domain Tax Guide Review.

  • Multimedia Ebooks For Children

Posted on February 8th, 2010 mj No comments

Though much harder to find than regular ebooks, multimedia ebooks for children can be a lot of fun for children of all ages. A multimedia ebook will have all kinds of cool features a standard ebook will not.

They could have a CD that accompanies them or could be on the CD themselves. These are usually ordered from the Internet instead of downloaded but you can find a few places that will have them available for download.

The difference between a multimedia ebook and a regular ebook is that your child can interact with and sometimes even change the story. This turns passive reading into something much more active.

When you get a multimedia ebook, it will either be on a CD or come as an executable or .EXE file. This is because it is more of a program than a document. Many of these ebooks allow multiple people to use them and have an area to input your name.

Some multimedia ebooks will allow your child to have his name or even his picture put into the actual story. This may require some adult assistance but can be a lot of fun.

It can really encourage a young reader to get involved with books if they are a part of the story.

Multimedia ebooks can be more expensive than regular ebooks and can be hard to find as well. Some retailers will have them in the computer software aisle but your best bet is to check with bookstores on the Internet or Ebay.

    Make Money Online Review

  • Periodical subscriptions are a nice present idea for your friends

Posted on February 8th, 2010 mj No comments

Magazines can be very nice presents, and most vendors offer special gift subscriptions. If you are interested in German newspapers and periodicals, the following site reviews some important online suppliers of gift subscriptions: http://www.geschenkabos.com/Oeko_Test_Geschenkabo.html

Taking out a subscription of magazines is a nice possibility to read your favorite magazine continuously. These days it is possible to subscribe to gazettes and journals at online shops via Internet. Doing so will help the shoppers to obtain their journal almost instantaneously after it has been released. What are the advantages of subscribing to your favorite journal instead of buying it each time it is published, and what are some special rules for buying German journal subscriptions?

Almost any gazette or journal may be purchased via Internet. So everybody is able to receive their preferential one quickly. It is necessary to bear in mind the rule that the gifts coming with a new subscription normally cannot be obtained by the new readers themselves but by the person who recommended the fresh buyer. So it is a good idea to purchase the new journal subscription together with someone else like your mother-in-law. One plays the role of the new reader and the other one claims the gift.

The subscriptions normally are combined with some very valuable bonuses. You can get valuable gifts like money, gift vouchers or electronic devices. These gifts can be worth many months of the subscription costs. You can simply choose your favorite journal and order it online immediately. A journal subscription devoid of minimum length can be used as a gift itself. If the client has chosen the wrong journal and the recipient does not like the specific magazine, one can cancel the subscription or switch over to another one.

There are online vendors who provide subscriptions without minimum period. These can be terminated at any time or may be switched over to another magazine title. But these non minimum length subscriptions do not come with precious bonuses. Most of the mail order suppliers offering periodicals via Internet provide special gift subscriptions. Those are a very good idea for shoppers being in need of a nice wedding present.

  • Catalytic converters contain platinum

Posted on February 8th, 2010 mj No comments

You don’t need to be a magician to turn base metal into gold: buying relatively cheap metal scrap will actually enable you to transform base stuff into the precious yellow metal called gold!

Some of the most promising industrial scrap is often overlooked by newcomers in the scrap trade, like catalytic converters. These ugly things can be big business, on account of the interesting fact that one of the prominent contents of (scrap) catalytic converters is platinum… one of the more expensive precious metals as you can see on the Kitco precious metals price quotes. This means that the catalytic converters scrap prices are equally interesting, because of their platinum content. In American Scrap Treasures all sorts of scrap metal (and other materials) are featured, among which catalytic converters. The platinum in these ugly contraptions can be recycled and resold, making the clever dealer a nice little profit.

Scrap metal tends to follow the general price developments of metal - this is especially the case with precious metals like gold, silver and indeed platinum. Following the Kitco trends you’ll see that buying scrap enables you to get in at the bottom of price waves and sell at the top, which is a relatively easy way to make a buck or, for that matter, a euro, quid or peso. This trade is fully international, so business is done worldwide.

Not all buyers of precious scrap metals sell the recycled stuff straight away in its pure condition: many (amateur) jewellers use gold, silver and platinum in their creations, and it’s a pleasing idea that some of the platinum that was hidden in your good old catalytic converter, finishes up adorning the slender neck of a beautiful woman! Precious metals look so much better there!

  • 5 Hot Tips for Cheaper Electricity

Posted on February 7th, 2010 mj No comments

    – Windows and Doors –

Checking your windows and doorways for holes is a great means to get cheaper utility bills. Air cons are used a lot by most people and helping it perform better is a good way to get cheaper electricity bills.

    – Screens and Curtains –

These are another way heat / chill air leaks during summertime or winter. It is critical to be mindful of shutting blinds and curtains when you leave your home. A easy method to ensure that you’re doing this is to try to constantly think “Have I shut the screens?” whenever you are locking your door for example. After a while it will merely become second nature and you’ll automatically remember it every time you exit the home.

    – Computers and TV’s –

Turn them off when you aren’t using them. I acknowledge it is a pain in the neck and it’s really easy to forget… but computers, especially gaming rigs expend a stack of juice. If you use an aging computer with a CRT monitor instead of an LCD then this is doubly right. Tvs as well use a fair amount of energy and unlike a computer they do not take time to reboot so it should not be overmuch an bother to turn it off whenever you are heading out to cut the yard or do work on your motorcar.

    – Washing your laundry –

Utilizing a cold water cycle rather than hot water is a good way to get cheaper electricity accounts too. Your water heater will get to take a breather and that will straightaway save you money. Even if you’re employing a gas heating system you should still save cash by using a cool water wash.

    – Housecleaning your air conditioner –

A good deal of people neglect this step, sometimes because their air conditioner is up higher and it’s a trouble to get to. Other times just because it ne’er occured to them earlier. Cleaning out your air conditioner filters is a great means to lower your power bill. Dirty filters signifies your aircon has to operate lots harder to create the same sum of heat / cooling that it did earlier.

  • Online Homeschoolers Can Have Fun Offline with Kid’s Party Games

Posted on February 7th, 2010 mj No comments

There are a lot of offline homeschooling activities and games that you can do with your child to help them learn. Supplementing online homeschooling with offline kid’s games makes a good combination learning atmosphere for homeschooled kids.

When it comes to parties, various holidays and special events, like birthday parties for your kids, lend themselves to activity planning. Kids party games can be both fun and educational.

Check out this fun kid’s party game called Washing Machine Hoops. Obviously this game is played wherever the washing machine is located.

Items You Need: Front load washing machines or standard top load washing machines, pile of sorted laundry (probably best if it is not personal items)

How to Play: Separate your party guests into teams. The object of the game is to get the most baskets using the washing machine as a hoop. Set a fair distance from the “hoop” where the players must shoot from.  This is a timed event. Beginning with the first team, start the clock and yell “go” for the first team member.  Each player grabs a piece of clothing from the laundry basket, balls it up, and shoots it like a basketball into the washing machine. They rotate through all the players on the team as many times as they can in the allotted time. Count the number of baskets made and then empty the laundry back to the hamper for the next team. Once all teams have completed the game, whoever has the most baskets, wins!

This game is exciting with both top load washing machines and front load washing machines. Front load washing machines require more of an underhand pitching motion to land in the “hoop.”

  • Nebraska Physician Jobs FAQ

Posted on February 7th, 2010 mj No comments

Q: Should I hire a lawyer to review my Nebraska physician employment contract?

A: In general, yes. We are not lawyers and do not give legal advice. We have reviewed many contracts and can provide you with feedback as to what we have seen as standard. The choice of a lawyer is critical. Find someone well versed in medical contract law, as well as the state’s laws in which you will practice. Try to find an attorney recommended by someone else. Also, make sure the attorney has enough time to review the contract in a timely manner. Negotiations could be hampered by a slowed response time.

Q: If I am a resident, when should I decide upon accepting a position?

A: As a general rule, the earlier the better. The more time you have to work on license applications, hospital privileges, finding a new home and moving arrangements, the less stress you’ll encounter. Many hospitals recruit for summer positions in the fall and early winter. Don’t think all of the “good” Nebraska physician jobs are taken by the end of winter. We assist physicians throughout the year because contract expirations occur throughout the year. Don’t worry. Have confidence that the right position will be available. Call us, we are here to help!

Q: Who handles negotiations, me or my recruiter?

A: Whenever possible, your recruiter should handle negotiations for Nebraska physician practice opportunities. Having a liaison reduces the potential for heated arguments between two parties. Keep in mind, professional recruiters regularly perform this task.

  • New Orleans Saints Apparel - Apparel for the New Orleans Saints - N.O. Saints Apparel

Posted on February 6th, 2010 mj No comments

The New Orleans Saints are a professional American football team based in New Orleans, Louisiana. The New Orleans Saints perform in the South Division of the National Football Conference (NFC) in the National Football League (NFL).

The New Orleans Saints were started in 1967 as an NFL expansion team and played all of their home games at Tulane Stadium up to the 1974 season. They went more than an entire decade before they managed to complete a season with a .500 record, 2 full decades before having a winning season, and over 40 years before reaching the Super Bowl. The Saints’ first successful years were from 1987–1992, when the team made the playoffs four times and had winning records in the non-playoff seasons. In the 2000 season, the Saints conquered the then-defending Super Bowl champion St. Louis Rams for the team’s first playoff win.

The 2009 season was the team’s best season. The 11/30/09 Monday Night Football game vs. the New England Patriots, the game in which the team went to an 11–0 record for the first time in franchise history, was the 2nd highest rated cable program to date. After becoming 13–0 with their win against the Atlanta Falcons, it marked the Saints’ best start to a season in its franchise’s history. The result clinched an NFC playoff berth, a bye in the first round of the playoffs. By winning their first 13 games, the Saints furthermore established the record for the longest undefeated season opening (13-0) by an NFC team since the AFL–NFL merger, eclipsing the previous record (12-0) held by the 1985 Chicago Bears. The Saints advanced to the 2009 NFC Championship game where they defeated the Minnesota Vikings 31-28 in overtime, sending the team to their first Super Bowl appearance in the franchise’s history.

  • Harry Potter books and films have an enthused group of followers in the world

Posted on February 6th, 2010 mj No comments

I am deeply fascinated by the huge worldwide vogue of the Harry Potter books. The Harry Potter books were written by the UK author J.K. Rowling. She was born on 31 July 1965. Her complete name is Joanne Rowling. But she writes under the short form J.K. Rowling because initially her publishing company thought it was a good move to hide the matter that she is female. The publishing house thought it might have a negative effect on the sales figures if everybody instantaneously recognizes that the writer was a woman. Consequently, instead of using her first name she used two initials. As she has no middle name she chose Kathleen as basis for the K. in her pen name. Kathleen is the name of her grandma.

The first Harry Potter novel - Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone - was published in the year 1997 in in Great Britain. Quite funny is the point that only 1,000 units of the first novel were produced at the beginning. The original title of the novel was not Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone, but Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone. But when the story was published to the American marketplace in 1998, it was renamed Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone.

After that J.K. Rowling wrote 6 additional Harry Potter stories. Finally the Harry Potter series is made of seven books. These are:

    • Novel 1: Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone
    • Novel 2: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
    • Novel 3: Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
    • Novel 4: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
    • Novel 5: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
    • Novel 6: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
    • Novel 7: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

The Harry Potter novels have been translated into over 55 languages and have been publicized in a lot of countries. Besides the impressing success in the USA and the United Kingdom, Harry Potter is also very liked in the European Union. The Harry Potter novels (German online store: Harry Potter Buecher Kaufen) have been released to the German audience under those titles:

    • Band 1: Harry Potter und der Stein der Weisen
    • Band 2: Harry Potter und die Kammer des Schreckens
    • Band 3: Harry Potter und der Gefangene von Askaban
    • Band 4: Harry Potter und der Feuerkelch
    • Band 5: Harry Potter und der Orden des Phoenix
    • Band 6: Harry Potter und der Halbblutprinz
    • Band 7: Harry Potter und die Heiligtuemer des Todes

I must admit that I did not have the time to read all the novels. But there are kids who know them all, which is quite fascinating and contributes to the huge success.
